RALEIGH – N. C. Department of Transportation contractors will close two ramps this week to realign the barrier wall at Jones Franklin Road and tie into the existing ramp from I-40 at I-440.
The ramp from I-440 East to Jones Franklin Road will close at 10 p.m. on Oct. 17 and reopen at 6 a.m. the next morning, weather permitting.
At midnight, the same night, the ramp from I-40 West to I-440 East will close and reopen at 6 a.m. the next morning.
Drivers heading to Jones Franklin Road should stay on I-440 East, exit at Western Boulevard, then take I-440 West back to Jones Franklin Road.
Drivers wanting to exit onto I-440 East should use the loop at the I-440/I-40 interchange.
Drivers should plan ahead as the detour will make their commute longer than normal and be cautious if traveling near the work zone.
