HIGH POINT – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will implement a closure on U.S. 29 (I-85 Bus) in Guilford County this weekend, weather permitting.
Beginning on Friday, July 19 at 8 p.m., Northbound U.S. 29 (I-85 Bus North) near South Main Street will be closed with a detour in place. Drivers heading north from Lexington should expect delays and plan accordingly.
All work is expected to be complete by 6 a.m. on Monday, July 22.
These closures are necessary for construction crews to prepare for future traffic shifts related to the opening of new ramps and placing traffic on the detour bridge to allow for the construction of new twin bridges on US 29.
Drivers should remain alert and plan for potential delays while using detours.
