ASHEBORO - The N.C. Department of Transportation has temporarily closed the N.C. 42 (Salisbury Street) Bridge over northbound Interstate 73/74 after a crash involving a tractor-trailer Tuesday morning.
The bridge will be closed indefinitely as crews perform inspections for damages and make any repairs that may be needed.
All lanes of I-73/74 are now open, in addition to the Sunset Avenue Bridge which had been closed earlier Tuesday due to the crash.
Motorists are encouraged to utilize DriveNC.gov for real-time traffic information and follow NCDOT on social media for updates on the bridge reopening.
