Ramps and Lane Closures Planned for Beltline This Weekend

RALEIGH – Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation plan to improve a bridge this weekend on Interstate 440 West near Glenwood Avenue.

The work will involve milling and applying a latex-modified concrete overlay. Lane closures on Glenwood Avenue are scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. Saturday and will continue until 5 a.m. on Monday, weather permitting. During this period, the ramp from Glenwood Avenue to I-440 West and the ramp from I-440 West to Glenwood Avenue will also be closed.

Glenwood Avenue West drivers wanting to access westbound I-440 should continue on Glenwood Avenue, make a U-turn at the Blue Ridge Road intersection, and then proceed to the interstate.

Traffic on I-440 West should detour via the Lake Boone exit to reach I-440 East back to Glenwood Avenue.

Drivers can expect the heaviest traffic near Glenwood Avenue during the daytime hours Sunday and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
