MEBANE – Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation will conduct overnight lane closures on a stretch of Interstate 85 in Mebane starting this weekend, weather permitting.
From Nov. 2 through Nov. 7, two out of four lanes in both directions of I-85 are set to close nightly between mile markers 148 and 154, near Trollingwood Hawfields Road. The closures are necessary to allow crews to replace overhead signs.
The closures will begin at 8 p.m. and reopen by 5 a.m. each day.
Drivers should allow extra time for their commute and use caution when traveling in the work zone.
