THOMASVILLE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close a section of U.S. 29 North/U.S. 70 East in Davidson County next week as part of ongoing roadwork near Davidson-Davie Community College.
The closure will take place between Old U.S. Highway 29 and Bud Kanoy Road, weather permitting, on Monday, Aug. 4 and Tuesday, Aug. 5 from 7:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. each night.
Crews will be removing a portable concrete barrier wall as part of a construction project near the college campus. To ensure safety and efficiency, traffic will be detoured to Old U.S. Highway 29 and Bud Kanoy Road during overnight operations.
Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling through the area and to follow all posted signs and detour routes.
