WILMINGTON – The Wilmington License
Plate Agency office, located at 2930 Carolina Beach Rd. (U.S. Hwy. 421 South),
Suite 108, will begin operation under a new contractor next week. The agency
will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 2 following over 30 years of operation in
Wilmington by Patti Smithson, who is retiring. The office will re-open on
Tuesday, March 6 under the ownership of Jessica Straughn, who also operates a
License Plate Agency in Wallace.
The Wilmington office hours will continue to be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
Monday through Friday.
Customers may call the office at (910) 763-6752 for service
inquiries.
DMV now offers license plate registration renewals and many other
services online. Customers are encouraged to check the official DMV website at
www.MyNCDMV.gov for registration needs.
