Proposed Closure of Existing Railroad Crossing on Doris Street - Forsyth County

The N.C. Department of Transportation proposes to close an existing at-grade railroad crossing on Doris Street in Forsyth County.

The proposed project will improve driver safety and reduce the potential for vehicle-train collisions.

A public meeting is scheduled for:

Tuesday, April 22, 2025
5-7 p.m.
Ibraham Elementary School
5036 Old Walkertown Road
Winston-Salem

The information presented at this public meeting will allow for individual discussions with project engineers, but there will be no formal presentation. Project details and maps can be found at the NCDOT public input webpage​​​​​.​​

​Public Comment

NCDOT representatives will be available to answer questions and receive comments. The comments and information received will be taken into consideration as work on the project develops.
