Project Overview
Planning and development are underway to build the final phase of the N.C. 43 Connector in Craven County. Proposed work would join U.S. 17 Business (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) and the existing portion of the connector south of U.S. 70/U.S. 17.
The proposed N.C. 43 Connector will be built as a four-lane divided highway with a grass median which will be designed for highway travel.
Project Funding
This project is listed as Project R-4463A in the
N.C. Department of Transportation's State Transportation Improvement Program and is funded for $48.7 million.
