Public Meeting Thursday on Proposed U.S. 29/N.C. 150 Interchange

GREENSBORO - Transportation officials are inviting the public to participate in a community meeting on Thursday, Sep. 20, regarding a proposal to improve the U.S. 29/N.C. 150 interchange in Guilford County.

“Once complete the upgrade will improve traffic and bring this area to current interstate standards, which has been designated as the future I-785,” said Chairman and Division Seven Board Member Michael Fox.

Both the Guilford County Metropolitan Planning Organization and NCDOT have prioritized this project for funding consideration.

The meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Crooked Tree Golf Course, 7665 Caber Road in Browns Summit.

NCDOT engineers and consultants will be on hand to gather comments on the proposed design. A map of the study area, environmental features and those designs will be presented. The maps can also be viewed on the NCDOT public meetings website.

Attendees, as well as area residents who can’t attend the meeting, also have the opportunity to submit written comments and questions via mail, email or phone until Monday, Oct. 22. Anyone desiring additional information or wanting to submit comments may contact Division 7 Project Manager Jennifer Evans, P.E., at (336) 487-0075, jenniferevans@ncdot.gov or 1584 Yanceyville Street, Greensboro, N.C. 27127.
