Help on the Way from the West

STATESVILLE – N.C. Department of Transportation crews from the western Piedmont are at the coast to lend a helping hand.

Twenty-two employees from Catawba, Gaston and Lincoln counties are in New Hanover County with 28 pieces of equipment such as crew cabs, dump trucks, backhoes, excavators and skid steers. Crews will perform road repairs similar to their routine duties, staying in the area up to two weeks.

“Our eastern counties have seen significant impact from Hurricane Florence”, said Division 12 Engineer Mark Stafford. “We’re fortunate to be able to send people and resources to help them in their time of need.”
