Comments Sought for Proposed Improvements to U.S. 21/Catawba Avenue

CORNELIUS – The public is invited to provide input on a project under development to improve traffic flow at the intersection of U.S. 21 (Statesville Road) and Catawba Avenue in Mecklenburg County.

The project was initially submitted for funding consideration by the former Mecklenburg-Union Metropolitan Planning Organization, now the Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization. The project was in its Metropolitan Transportation Plan to provide residents with enhanced mobility through a congested section of Cornelius.

A public meeting is set for 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Cornelius Town Hall Community Room, 21445 Catawba Avenue. People may attend the meeting at any time, as no formal presentation will be made.

For those who cannot attend the meeting, they may submit comments in writing, or phone or email through Oct. 31. All comments received will be reviewed and considered for the final design
