Lane Closure Scheduled for U.S. 29 in Concord

CONCORD – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will close next week a lane on U.S. 29 North near N.C. 73 in Concord as part of a $13 million project to replace two bridges over Norfolk Southern Railroad.

Weather permitting, the right lane will close between Florence Street NW and Davidson Drive NW at 7 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15 to set up traffic control and safely set eight bridge girders in place. The closure will be removed by 7 p.m. the same day.

Future traffic shifts will be scheduled as work progresses. The project is scheduled to wrap up in the spring of 2020.
