Reimagining 15-501 Corridor Study Hosts Second Public Workshop

DURHAM – The N.C. Department of Transportation and the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (DCHC MPO) are co-hosting a second open house for the Reimagining 15-501 Corridor Study on Monday, Oct. 22.

The purpose of the workshop is to review and provide comments on proposed concepts for addressing future transportation challenges in the U.S. 15-501 corridor between Ephesus Church Road in Chapel Hill and University Drive in Durham. Residents will be able to comment on their preferred options, which will help guide the project team in selecting the concepts that will be studied in detail as they move toward final recommendations for the corridor.

The meeting will be 6 to 8 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the Eno River Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 4907 Garrett Road, Durham.

This workshop is a drop-in style meeting where staff will answer questions and receive feedback. No formal presentation will be made so interested residents can stop by anytime over during the two hours.  Parking is available on site and this location can be accessed on GoDurham Route 10/10a.

For more information about the study, visit the project website as well as follow the DCHC MPO on Facebook and Twitter for #reimagining15501 updates.

Persons who require Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) assistance to attend the workshop should call (919) 560-4366, ext. 36444 or email Michael.Bruff@DurhamNC.gov no later than 48 hours before the event. Persons who speak Spanish and have a limited ability to read, speak or understand English may receive interpretive services upon request prior to the meeting by calling that same number.
