GASTONIA – N.C. Department of Transportation crews are
assessing damage to a sign hit today by a tractor trailer on Interstate 85 South near mile marker 18. The
crash happened around 12:30 p.m.
Two of three lanes are closed to
traffic while crews remove the sign and structure. Officials anticipate the
closure to be in place into the afternoon commute.
Motorists can avoid delays by
taking U.S. 74 (Wilkinson Boulevard) as an alternate route.
