Public Comments Sought for Cabarrus County Project

KANNAPOLIS The public is invited to provide input on a project under development to replace the bridge on East 1st Street over U.S. 29 with an at-grade intersection. A signalized intersection is being proposed rather than replacing the existing bridge as it provides the same level of service to drivers, at a lower cost for construction and maintenance.

A public meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15 at Faith Baptist Church, 900 Chitola Street. People may attend the meeting at any time, as no formal presentation will be made.

For those who cannot attend the meeting, they may submit comments in writing, by phone or email through Dec. 17. All comments received will be reviewed and considered for the final design.

More information and a map of the proposed improvements can be found here.

To send comments or learn more, contact NCDOT Project Engineer Tierre Peterson at  919-707-6488. You may also submit comments in writing to 1581 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, N.C., 27699-1581.
