​GREENSBORO – Night-time lane closures are planned this week for a stretch of Interstate-40 West between the Guilford College Road exit and the split with the I-73 South loop. The closures are needed so a contractor can safely replace overhead signs.
The work is set to start tonight at 8 p.m. with the closure of two of the four lanes, and a third lane closing at midnight. All lanes will be open again by 6 a.m. on Tuesday. The same schedule will be in place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, with all work wrapping up by Friday morning.
Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra caution when approaching the work zone for their own safety, as well as for the safety of other drivers, passengers and the contractor crews.
