WILMINGTON – Intermittent lane closures will limit traffic flow on Interstate 140 in Wilmington over the next week.
At least one lane will remain open to traffic in both directions as N.C. Department of Transportation crews repair the Dan Cameron Bridge over the Northeast Cape Fear River from Thursday, Nov. 29, to Friday, Dec. 7. The work will run 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on those days.
Crews will be making an emergency replacement of a bridge joint that is necessary to ensure safe passage for drivers using the bypass.
Drivers are urged to slow down and take extra caution while traveling through the work zone.
They are also encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid the work crews and to help limit congestion on I-140.
