Randolph County Bridge to Be Replaced

ASHEBORO – The N.C. Department of Transportation will replace a Randolph County bridge in the coming months.

The department this month awarded a $1 million contract to Eastern Structures LLC of Mocksville to replace the Lassiter Mill Road bridge over Bettie McGee’s Creek.

Originally built in 1952, the bridge has become functionally obsolete, which means it no longer meets today’s traffic demands and has vehicle weight limits that the new bridge will correct.

The contractor can begin the project sometime this winter, and the work will take five months to complete.
