Crews Stay on Track to Reopen Greenville Intersection

GREENVILLE - The N. C. Department of Transportation has been hard at work converting 10th Street in Greenville into a four-lane divided road with a landscaped median that directly links Memorial Drive to 10th Street at Evans Street.

Part of the project included closing the intersection of Evans Street and 10th Street to allow crews to safely install three brick crosswalks. The NCDOT crews have stayed on track and will reopen the intersection by Friday.

The work is part of the 10th Street Connector Project. Once completed by summer of 2019, it will provide a vital connection between Vidant Medical Center and East Carolina University (and Uptown Greenville Central Business District).

The 1.4-mile-long connector is expected to reduce traffic congestion and create greater connectivity with the construction of a bridge over the CSX Rail Road.
