POLLOCKSVILLE – The N. C. Department of Transportation will close a section of a Jones County road in both directions next week.
Oaks Grove Road in Pollocksville will be closed from Tuesday, Dec. 18, to Thursday, Dec. 20. The closure will allow construction crews to safely place girders on two new bridges which cross over Oaks Grove Road.
While drivers are asked to avoid the area those three days, there will be a detour in place.
For drivers heading east or west, the detour will include: Scott Road, 10 Mile Fork Road, U. S. 17 and Loop Road.
Drivers are urged to use caution when approaching the closures, and to anticipate possibly needing extra time to travel through the area because of the detour.
