ABERDEEN – The Roseland Road bridge that crosses Deep Creek
west of Aberdeen is scheduled to close Monday, May 21.
A contract crew for the N.C. Department of Transportation will replace the
1950s-era bridge, which has become functionally obsolete for modern traffic and
requires expensive maintenance. The new bridge is scheduled to open in
September.
A detour will
route traffic onto Hoffman and Rose Ridge roads.
This is one of two bridges in Moore County being replaced by Dellinger Inc.
of Monroe under a $1.2 million contract. The other bridge, on Jackson Springs
Road, opened this month.
