Pipe Replacement to Close N.C. 11 in Pender County

WILLARD – A project to improve the drainage of a Pender County highway will require a two-day detour, starting at 7 a.m. Monday.

The southbound lane of N.C. 11 will close, south of Willard Road near Willard, to allow maintenance workers from the N.C. Department of Transportation to replace a drainage pipe.

The road is expected to reopen by Tuesday. The closure is not expected to affect travel on the northbound lane, but drivers should be alert and slow down through the temporary work zone.

During the closure, southbound drivers should also anticipate needing extra time as they will be detoured onto English Town Road to Crooked Run Road to get back onto N.C. 11.
