Public Meeting Set for Roadway Improvement Project in Hertford County

AHOSKIE – The public is invited to offer feedback this week on plans to make roadway improvements to U.S. 13/N.C. 11 in Hertford County between the intersection with N.C. 561 near Ahoskie and the N.C. 45 intersection near Winton.

The proposed project would widen the highway and make safety improvements to several intersections. The project comes at the request of local officials in order to reduce the number of accidents along the route.

More information about the proposed project, including maps of the area included, is available on the NCDOT public meeting webpage.

The meeting is set for Thursday, Jan. 31, from 5-7 p.m. at the Ridgecroft School Media Center at 420 N.C. 11 South in Ahoskie.

The public may drop in at any time during the meeting hours, as no formal presentation will be made. Project team members will be present to answer questions and hear public comments that will be considered as the proposed project develops. Comments can also be submitted by phone, email or mail by Feb. 14.
