Bridge Maintenance to Close Lanes of New Hanover County Bridge

WILMINGTON – The N.C. Department of Transportation will be doing maintenance work on a New Hanover County bridge starting Monday, lasting a month.

NCDOT crews will replace bridge expansion joints and foam seals on the bridge on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway over the NE Cape Fear River in Wilmington.

Maintenance crews will close a lane from Feb. 7 through March 8, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. The lane closures will rotate between the east and westbound lanes, leaving one open to traffic at all times.

While no detour will be in place, drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid crews and potential congestion. Drivers using Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway should be alert and slow down.
