CHINA GROVE – The N.C. Department of Transportation plans to divert traffic from a Rowan County road where storm drain culverts are to be replaced next week.
Two culverts under Scercy Road have failed and stormwater is not passing under the roadway properly. They need to be replaced promptly to prevent damage to the roadway and adjacent properties.
NCDOT will close Scercy Road in the area from 8 a.m. Monday until 5 p.m. on Friday. A signed detour will follow Old Concord, Old Beatty Ford and Lentz roads.
Drivers should use caution near the work zone and expect possible delays associated with the detour.
