LA GRANGE – A section of a Lenoir County road will be closed for a few days this week for maintenance work.
The N.C. Department of Transportation will close part of Ed Herring Road in La Grange Wednesday at 8 a.m. to replace a drainage pipe under the road. Work is expected to finish Friday by 4 p.m.
Because all lanes will be closed to traffic, drivers should use Frink School Road, North Charles Road and N.C. 903 to get around the work zone.
While the detour is in place, drivers should anticipate needing extra time and they are urged to slow down as they approach the road closure.
