Bridge Rehab Work to Close Lanes of a Pitt County Highway

GREENVILLE – Four bridges along a portion of a Pitt County road will be rehabbed starting next week, requiring daily lane closures.

The N.C. Department of Transportation will alternate closing the north and southbound lanes of U.S. 13 in Greenville starting March 1. The closures will be between the intersections of West 3rd Street and West Moore Street each weekday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This work is expected to last through the end of April.

During these times, crews will rehab the bridge deck of the existing bridges, one in the northbound and three in the southbound lanes.

One lane will be open for traffic at all times, but with potential congestion and for the safety of the crews, drivers are urged to seek an alternate route.
