Hurricane Florence Repairs to Close Section of Brunswick County Road

BOILING SPRING LAKES - A section of a Brunswick County road will be closed next week through mid-April for repairs from Hurricane Florence.

The N.C. Department of Transportation will close 0.2 miles of East Boiling Spring Road about one mile east of N.C. 87 at North Lake and Patricia Lake starting March 18. It will last through April 12.

The closure is needed so two 96-inch aluminum pipes can be installed under the road. As part of the repairs, crews will also work on grading, drainage, pavement removal and paving.

Traffic will be detoured onto N.C. 87 and Funston Road.

While a portion of the Boiling Spring Lakes road is expected to be closed for most of the project, intermittent lane closures are also possible. Drivers should anticipate needing extra time and slow down when approaching the work zone.
