WILLIAMSTON – Beginning March 25, NCDOT contractors will begin a project to replace the bridge over Collie Swamp on Prison Camp Road near Williamston.
While the project is underway, Prison Camp Road will be closed to thru traffic between N.C. Highway 903 and Belmont Church Road.
A signed detour will be in place to carry traffic around the project. Eastbound traffic will turn left onto N.C. Highway 903 to Crisp Road to Sam Everett Road to Belmont Church Road back to Prison Camp Road. Westbound traffic will turn right onto Belmont Church Road to Sam Everett Road to Crisp Road to N.C. Highway 903.
The project is expected to be complete and reopened to traffic in September 2019
