CLEMMONS – Multiple overnight ramp closures are planned along Interstate 40 next week as part of the project to improve the interstate at the border of Davie and Forsyth counties.
The closures will affect Exit 180 (N.C. 801) in Davie County and Exit 182 (Harper Road) in Forsyth County. They will enable the contractor to install drainage systems that run under several ramps.
The nightly closure schedule with detour links is as follows:
- Monday, May 6: 10 p.m. through 7 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from westbound I-40 onto Harper Road.
- Tuesday, May 7: 10 p.m. through 7 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from westbound I-40 onto N.C. 801 North.
- Wednesday, May 8: 10 p.m. through 7 a.m. the next morning, the ramp from westbound I-40 onto N.C. 801 South.
- Thursday, May 9: 10 p.m. through 5 a.m. the next morning, the ramp from eastbound I-40 onto N.C. 801.
- Friday, May 10: 10 p.m. through 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from N.C. 801 onto eastbound I-40.
This work is weather dependent and may be subject to change.
Drivers should slow down and use caution throughout the work zone and anticipate the detours may add to travel times.
