Resurfacing at U.S. 74/Charlottetowne Ramps

CHARLOTTE – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will be milling and resurfacing ramps where Charlottetowne Avenue meets Independence Boulevard this week, weather permitting.

Tonight and Tuesday night, the entrance ramp from Charlottetowne Avenue to U.S. 74 East will close from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Drivers can use Monroe Road as an alternate route, taking Briar Creek Road back to U.S. 74.

Once resurfacing work is finished there, the exit ramp from U.S. 74 West to Charlottetowne Avenue will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday through Friday night, July 24 – 27. Drivers can take Monroe Road or Central Avenue as an option.

Dry conditions are needed to complete the work, so any rain may push the closures back to the next night.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down when approaching the work zone and to pay extra attention to construction and detour signs.
