CHARLOTTE – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews have scheduled several closures as part of a $16.3 million project to improve the roadway and 22 bridges along Interstate 277. The schedule of closures released on Monday has been modified.
Bridge work will require lane closures along the inner loop between 3rd and 10th Streets from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Friday night.
Also, the entrance ramp from South Clarkson Street will be closed at 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday for ramp repair,and reopen by 6 the following morning. The ramp will be closed once more from 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday.

Drivers need to slow down and use extra caution while going through the work zones and the detour routes. They also need to pay extra attention to the road for their own safety, as well as any passengers, occupants of other vehicles and the construction crews in the area.
