WINSTON-SALEM – State transportation contractors plan to close an exit loop in Winston-Salem to improve the road surface this weekend.
The loop from southbound U.S. 52 onto Business 40 East/U.S. 421 South is set to close at 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23 so concrete repairs can begin, weather permitting. It will remain closed until the concrete cures and strengthens, which could be late Saturday or early Sunday.
Traffic will be detoured to follow U.S. 52 South to Research Parkway/Exit 108B and head back up U.S. 52 North to return to Business 40 East/U.S. 421 South at Exit 109A.
Drivers should be cautious near the work zone and allow a little extra time for the detour.
