Multiple Ramp Closures Along I-85 Planned for the Weekend

​THOMASVILLE – N.C. Department of Transportation contractors have planned multiple overnight ramp closures along Interstate 85 in Davidson County starting tonight through early next week to replace asphalt on the shoulders.

Crews plan to begin work on both northbound ramps of Exit 102 (Lake Road) tonight. 

• The exit ramp will be closed to get onto and off of I-85 North at Lake Road beginning at 8 p.m.
• Work is expected to be complete by 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4. 
• Traffic wishing to exit I-85 North at Lake Road will be rerouted to I-85 North, N.C. 109 and I-85 South.
• Lake Road traffic wishing to access I-85 North will be rerouted to I-85 South, U.S. 64 and I-85 North.
  

Beginning 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, crews will close Exit 103 (N.C. 109) off I-85 North.

• Work is expected to be complete by 6 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5.
• During construction, traffic will be directed to I-85 North, Finch Farm Road and I-85 South.

On Monday, Oct. 7, the ramp onto I-85 South from N.C. 109 will be closed at 8 p.m.

• Work is anticipated to be finished by 6 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8.
• Drivers on this route will be directed to I-85 North, Finch Farm Road and I-85 South​. 

Drivers are reminded to use caution while traveling through these areas and observe all signs, including speed limits and detour routes.
