THOMASVILLE – A bridge preservation project in Davidson County will require closing an Interstate 85 ramp overnight.
Weather permitting, contract forces will close the ramp from N.C. 109/Randolph Street onto I-85 South from 8 p.m. Oct. 28 until 6 a.m. Oct. 29.
The closure is necessary for crews to safely work on the I-85 bridge over the CSX railroad track.
Traffic will be
detoured​ to follow I-85 North to Finch Farm Road to return to I-85 South while the ramp is closed.
Drivers should be cautious near the work zone and allow extra time for the detour.
