RALEIGH – The N.C. Department of Transportation is seeking proposals from vendors to provide mechanical services for its Piedmont passenger train fleet.
The selected vendor will provide train inspections, servicing, repairs and cleaning of the trainsets at the department’s Capital Yard facility in Raleigh, along with inspection and cleaning in Charlotte. The contract is for three years with two one-year extensions.
Prospective vendors must attend a mandatory pre-proposal meeting at Capital Yard (862 Capital Blvd., Raleigh, N.C. 27603) on Feb. 18 at 9 a.m. Proposals are due on March 3, and the contract is expected to be awarded in early April with the selected contractor providing services starting June 1.
