RALEIGH – N.C. Department of Transportation crews are scheduled to close Lake Wheeler Road tomorrow due to a pipe failure beneath the road.
At 9 a.m., Lake Wheeler Road will close just south of the junction of Penny Road near Yates Mill Pond. The closure is for an estimated 30 days and is weather dependent.
A detour will utilize Tryon Road, U.S. 401/Fayetteville Road and Simpkins Road.
Drivers should be mindful of crews working in this area and factor the detour into their commutes.
