GREENSBORO – Overnight lane closures will be installed as a project to replace a pair of bridges in Guilford County gets underway next week.
The East Gate City Boulevard bridges over South Buffalo Creek, just north of Interstate 40, have become outdated and will be replaced according to modern design standards.
To safely conduct test borings in preparation for the work ahead, crews plan to install nightly closures of one lane in each direction of the road in this area. The closures will be in place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. beginning Sunday evening and lasting through the morning of Wednesday, April 7.
This work is weather dependent and the schedule is subject to change.
Drivers should slow down when approaching this section of East Gate City Boulevard and watch out for crews working near the travel lanes.
