RALEIGH – An upcoming project will improve nearly 10 miles of roadway in Scotland and Hoke counties.
Thanks to a contract recently awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation, a section of U.S. 74 and seven sections of secondary roads will be milled and resurfaced. The work can begin next month and is scheduled for completion in June 2022.
Barnhill Contracting Co. of Rocky Mount was awarded the project with a low bid of $931,186.
Drivers should expect lane closures during this work and be mindful of crews working near the travel lanes.
