Upgrades Coming to Alamance County Intersection

ALAMANCE COUNTY – A local state highway intersection is getting a safety boost this week following a recent traffic study.

N.C. Department of Transportation and contract crews plan to install an all-way stop at the intersection of N.C. 49 and Greensboro-Chapel Hill Road on Wednesday. The work is set to begin at 8 a.m. and should be complete by 3 p.m., weather permitting.

A flagging operation will help drivers pass through the intersection while the work is taking place.

Learn more about the benefits of all-way stops on the N.C. Department of Transportation's safety and mobility webpage.

Drivers should keep an eye out on for the crews working at this intersection on Wednesday and prepare for the new traffic design.
