All-Way Stop Coming to Rockingham County Intersection

REIDSVILLE – A local intersection is set to be adjusted this week after being identified for safety improvements.

The N.C. Department of Transportation plans to convert the junction of Moir Mill and Hampton roads, north of Reidsville, to an all-way stop. Currently, only traffic on Moir Mill Road stops at this crossroads.

The conversion is scheduled to take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday, weather permitting. Drivers should slow down and watch out for crews working in the travel lanes during this period.

All-way stops are efficient and cost-effective ways to improve the safety of an intersection and reduce the risk of serious crashes. Converting intersections into all-way stops has been shown to reduce fatalities and injuries by 77%.
