WILMINGTON – U.S. 421 reopened south of Interstate 140 at 7 a.m. today after CSX Corp. completed maintenance to its railroad crossing.
The track maintenance was completed in a little over two days, thanks to the joint partnership between CSX and crews with the N.C. Department of Transportation. The road closed Monday morning.
CSX officials were anticipating the work could take between three to five days to complete.
