LEXINGTON – The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close a section of a state highway in Davidson County for a maintenance project.
Starting Feb. 28 at 9 a.m., Old Highway 64 will be closed in both directions between Odell Owen Road and Petrea Road while crews replace the guardrail and reconstruct the shoulders. Work is expected to be complete by March 4.
For the duration of the closure, a detour will be in place following Rowe Road, U.S. 64 and Forest Hill Road.
Motorists should take their time and use caution while using the detour.
