Overnight Closures Planned for I-40 in Forsyth County

WINSTON-SALEM – Starting this weekend, an N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will close lanes of Interstate 40 in Forsyth County for an ongoing rehabilitation and bridge preservation project, weather permitting.

The following lane closures are scheduled to take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning:

  • On Feb. 20, two of three lanes on I-40 West will be closed from east of Peters Creek Parkway to Stratford Road.
  • From Feb. 20-21, one of two lanes on I-40 West will be closed from the Guilford County line to east of Union Cross Road.
  • On Feb. 20, one of two lanes on I-40 East will be closed from Highway 311 to High Point Road.
  • From Feb. 20-21, one of two lanes on I-40 East will be closed from west of Union Cross Road to east of Highway 66.
  • From Feb. 22-24, two of three lanes on I-40 East will be closed from the I-40/U.S. 421 split to west of Peters Creek Parkway.

Motorists should remain cautious when approaching the work zones and expect delays.​
