ELIZABETH CITY – A series of races in and around Elizabeth City will impact drivers Thursday through Saturday.
The Elizabeth City Coast Guard Marathon will hold a 5k, a half-marathon, and a full marathon March 4 and 5. For athletes to compete safely, there will be some temporary road and/or lane closures beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday. While most of the closures will be ‘rolling’ closures that move with the participants, some roads will be closed for the entirety of the event. Among the closures are:
- North Road Street will be closed Friday afternoon.
- The outside lane of Weeksville Road will be closed for most of Saturday morning.
- A portion of Main Street and all of Water Street will be closed 7:30 a.m.- 3 p.m. Saturday.
