LEXINGTON – Starting next week, the N.C. Department of Transportation will close part of a Davidson County interstate for a maintenance project.
On March 14, between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., the right lane of Interstate 285 South near mile marker 100 will be closed. From March 15-18, between 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily, the I-285 onramp to Hickory Tree Road will be closed. Both closures are necessary to allow crews to safely repair a structure on the ramp.
Traffic will be detoured to Old U.S. 52 (Exit 97), turn left at the end of the ramp, take the next left for I-285 North and continue to the Hickory Tree Road exit.
Motorists should use caution when traveling near the work zone and expect some delays due to the detour.
