ROBBINSVILLE – The Robbinsville License Plate Agency (LPA) at 74 South Main Street will permanently close at 5 p.m. on March 30 and is moving to a new location. The agency will reopen on April 4 at 36 Tapoco Road (U.S. Hwy. 129) in Robbinsville.
During the two-day closure, Graham County customers can visit these nearby offices for their vehicle registration and titling needs:
• Hayesville, 1440 U.S. Hwy. 64 W., 9 a.m.-5 p.m., 252-389-8133
• Bryson City, 101 Mitchell St., 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., 828-488-8247
• Sylva, 454 E. Main St., 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., 828-586-3886
Office hours in Robbinsville will remain 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The agency is operated by Giddy Wiggins. Customers may call the office at 828-479-4896 for inquiries and to confirm operating hours.
In North Carolina, NCDMV oversees LPAs, but the agencies are managed by private businesses or local governments.
LPAs offer vehicle registration services and title transactions, as well as vehicle license plate renewals, replacement tags, disability placards and duplicate registrations. There are currently 131 license plate agencies operating across North Carolina.
