CHARLOTTE – A $6.1 million contract awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation will bring improvements to several primary and secondary roads in Mecklenburg County, starting as early as this month.
The contract includes milling, resurfacing, and shoulder reconstruction to approximately 18 miles throughout the county, including sections of these primary roads:
- N.C. 16 (Brookshire Boulevard) between Fred D. Alexander Boulevard and Lawton Road
- N.C. 73 between W. Catawba Avenue and Interstate 77
Segments of secondary roads to receive improvement include:
- Runnymede Lane/Woodlawn Road between Sharon Road and Park Road
- Westinghouse Boulevard between N.C. 49 (S. Tryon Street and Granite Street)
- Caldwell Road between Back Creek Church Road and the Cabarrus County line
Work can start as soon as April 26 and should be completed by November 2023.
