KINSTON - A section of N.C. 58 south of Kinston is scheduled to be closed for a couple of days next week. The highway between Elm Grove and Copeland Farm roads will close at 8 a.m. Monday and is scheduled to be open to traffic Wednesday morning. The work is weather dependent. The closure will allow N.C. Department of Transportation maintenance crews to safely replace two crossline pipes. The new pipes will be larger, allowing more water to flow through. Traffic will be detoured onto Copeland Farm and Joe Williams roads. NCDOT encourages drivers to plan accordingly as a detour may make their travel time longer and use caution near the closure. For real-time travel information, visit DriveNC.gov or follow NCDOT on social media.
